This composition of a wood grouse and a dog (laika) carved on a moose antler is an example of mixed carving technique. The figure of the wood grouse stands out carved in the antler and the figure of the dog is an additional element, a sculpture carved in wood.
This composition in which separate sculptures of the animals (the whole or a part of the body) are used has the effect of space and movement. The boar and the dogs are carved of wood and are fixed onto the moose antler which is carved as a wood background.
This sculpture is carved of walrus tusk and placed on a stand made of blackwood. The scene represents a wild boar and dogs, below is carved an old trunk with a small martin hiding in it from all the turmoil around. The size is 8 cm height and 12 cm length.
