This is another version of one of my favourite compositions the center of which is 2 mooses fighting. Cut carving technique allows to make the carving light and the atmosphere airy.
Every version of this composition is not a simple repetition of the same subject but a new treatment of the scene and the material as every new moose antler dictates the forms and movements and carving lines and techniques to be applied.
The composition of a bear walking in an abandoned and desolate village carved as a background into the moose antler has a lyrical atmosphere about it. The bear is made with different techniques: part of the body is carved into the moose antler and the other part is a separate sculpture made of wood.
This is a composition depicting a sudden encounter of a huge bear and a boisterous and bold Laika (Russo-European Laika, a "barking" dog), one of the favourite hunting breeds with Russian hunters.
